Rival Sailing offers informal sailing tuition tailored to suit you.

Whether you’re working towards an RYA qualification, booking a bare-boat charter holiday or buying a yacht of your own, we can help! 

You can book informal sailing lessons or refreshers aboard Rival 41 sail training yacht East End Endeavour (up to 5 people) OR opt for own-boat sailing tuition (up to 3 people). We’ll help you brush up on the areas you choose to focus on, from practical boat handling skills to putting sailing theory into practice. For example:

  • Steering and berthing
  • Pontoon practice and rope work
  • Mooring and anchoring
  • Points of sail and sail handling
  • Navigation – chart and electronic
  • Planning a passage
  • Plotting, estimating and fixing positions
  • Tidal work
  • Rules of the Road, e.g steering and sailing, buoys and marks, lights and sound signals

  • Safety procedures, including man overboard (MOB) recovery drill

We can also provide practical advice relating to on-board hygiene and safety procedures, maintenance, and boat-owning in general! Contact us to discuss dates and sailing tuition options* – we’ll work with you to make sure you get the most out of your informal instruction.

2 -3 persons £150 per day
Aboard East End Endeavour
1-3 persons (minimum rate)£240 per day
4-5 persons£300 per day
Plus food & reasonable travel/accommodation expenses as applicable
  * A 2-day+ option will give you the chance to get some valuable night sailing experience.
